~ P1 Orientation Letter! ~

Received a letter from Sengkang Primary School today. So excited! Unlike the older times, schools are really efficient nowadays.. Denver's orientation is on the 21st November and they have sent us a letter consisting of all the pointers and information parents need to know (in advance).

This includes the following.

1) Orientation Programme Schedule

2) Class and House colour : Denver will be in - Courage (Green House). Coincidentally it will be his favourite colour - GREEN! Ummmm.. although it is not his preferred choice as his cousins are in the Blue house.. still, green is good. :)

3) General Information for Parents : E.g. School Reporting, Recess and Dismissal time. Buddy Scheme etc.

4) Programme for Primary 1 (4th to 6th Jan 2010)

5) Tips for parents : Including how to write your child's name on textbook and workbooks, list of books to bring, preparation for Day 1, amount of pocket money to give. (Recommended sum: $1.50 max) Wow...

6) School Attire pricing : From T-shirts, Shorts, Skirts, Socks by different sizes and pricing are listed. The good thing is SengKang Primary school's attire are T-Shirts and shorts. :) I believe it's because they have P.E everyday. So it is not the usual shirt with buttons. This would also means no ironing for me.. hahhahaha. :p

7) Primary 1 Booklist : A Long list! I need to seek my bsil's help to see which books I can get from the older children. :) Cost savings for unneccesary purchases.

8) STELLAR : Sengkang Primary school do not use English textbooks and workbooks. So they are adopting this programme to strengthen both language and reading skills.

10) Name Tag : I believe to be used on his First day of school! :)

This is really a LOT of information to digest.. I will need to take time to go through all the items 1 by 1. I'm waiting for Hubby to be back in Singapore to discuss about this. :) Orientation is only less than 2 weeks to go! Wow! So many things to catch up on!
