~ Father's Birthday Lunch - Part 2 ~

Last Sunday, we had another lunch together with brother's family to celebrate my father's birthday. This time we went to Peng Catering Services Restuarant (亚平）located at Lor 1 Realty Park (near Hougang Ave 3).

I was first introduced to this restuarant through dining with Hubby and his family/relatives. It serves very delicious Teochew food and has always been one of our most frequent dining place during special occasion.

We ordered the $238 10-course set that comes with Longevity Buns, shark's fin soup, fish, chicken, spinach with scallops and others. I enjoyed almost every dish and my personal recommendation would be the cold dish, steamed pomfret and sweet yam! The steamed prawns are very fresh too! There is too much leftover food and we have to packet the chicken, yam basket and noodles back home. :)

Father & Mother enjoys the food as well as the company of the little ones. :) Happy Birthday once again, Dad!

~ Weekend stay at Changi Chalet ~

We are spending our weekends at one of the chalet in Changi. ^_^ Weather hasn't been good lately as it has been pretty rainy. Showers with thunder are expected over the next few days in the afternoon. That doesn't sound like good news for us.

Meanwhile, the children are extremely happy and excited and we are enjoying our stay so far. Loads of tibits, food, drinks, games and more! Will be posting more detail updates on our travel blog soon. :)

~ Bubbly Fun @ City Square Mall ~

Christmas is around the corner and the shopping malls have put up pretty lighting and Christmas deco. We can see Christmas trees, Santa Claus and hear Christmas carols. The holiday season and mood is definitely filling up the air. :)

Last Saturday, I took the kids to City Square Mall for some bubbly fun. From now till 31st Dec, the eco-friendly Santa's Bubbly tree will be 'blowing' bubbles at various timings. Instead of snow, there are lots of little bubbles to fill the children with fun and laughter.

The children are running to wherever the bubbles are, waving their hands and bursting as many bubbles as they could. Even the adults seems to be enjoying themselves. Have a bubbly time if you are in City Square this December. :)

~ Family Day Out on Deepavali ~

Happy Diwali and HELLO to long weekend! Yeah! Gladys seems to enjoy posing in front of the camera and never fails to show and remind me her cuteness and girlish nature hidden beneath her rough and boyish front. :)

Earlier this morning, we drove down to Suntec City and watched Legend Of The Guardians - an adventure about owls. The story is about how Soren, a young owl and his brother, Kludd got kidnapped by the Metalbeak owls (Pure Ones) when they fell from their treetop home. Probably due to jealousy, Kludd joins the evil owls while Soren managed to escape in search for The Guardians to restore peace once again. The only thing I feel uncomfortable about this movie is the betrayal of Kludd not only to his younger brother but also to his sister. Parental guidance shouls be adviced and checked on.

After the movie, we went to the Food Safari and Electronics fair held at the Suntec Convention Centre (Level 6) for our lunch. Denver & Gladysmanaged to take some photos with the mascots. :)

Next, it is heading down to Leng Kee Road - SIS Building to check what are the items on sale at the Bossini's Warehouse Sale. Promotion items starts from $3 onwards and the sale will be on from 3rd till 28th November. We managed to grab some polo tees for Hubby and Denver. :)
Then, we window-shop in Great World City, had dinner at Bendemeer market, played PS games at Brother Owen's home and finally stopping by Kovan to buy some groceries before making our way back home! Phew!!

It has been a very long time since we went out for the entire day without going home for a nap. Naturally all of us are very tired and we K.O within minutes. Good Night!

~ Updates on NFC 2010 ~

It has been a really BUSY long weekend. Apart from busy packing the luggage for our China trip, we also took the family out to the National Family Celebration 2010 at Sentosa yesterday. (Check out our travel blog for more details)

It was a Day and Night event for the entire family. Hubby & I were very tired but I think it was worth it since we have a good time together. ^_^ Hoped everyone had Fun at NFC 2010. Looking forward to NFC 2011.

~ 清明节 + Singapore Zoo ~

Qing Ming Festival (清明节) - usually falls on the beginning of April. It is the time where we honour our ancestors. Hubby and his family left home very early in the morning (around 6am) to sweep the tomb, make offerings and burn joss paper. This is to avoid the crowd and heavy traffic conditions. For the past few years, I have been tasked with another important task...... stay home to look after the 4 children. ^_^

When we got home in the afternoon, our neighbour called to say that there are free tickets to the Singapore Zoo. What a surprise! Hubby didn't even manage to catch any sleep and drove us to the Zoo. I guess he wanted the kids to have more fun since he will be going to Manila on a business trip next week and will not be seeing them for the next 14 days (at least). :(

It was pouring when we arrived but it didn't spoil our mood at all. We had another tiring but fun-filled afternoon at the Zoo. (Photos and details to be updated soon...)

~ Evening at Changi Airport Terminal 2 ~

Earlier, we all went to send Zhen off at the Airport. The children always love to go there and Gladys even thought she is going to board the aeroplane! You can imagine she was confused and disappointed to know that we aren't going on a tour after all. Nevertheless, she had fun hopping on the trolley being wheeled around by Denver and the kiddos had supper at MacDonald.

We are BACK at Sakae Sushi AGAIN! This time with Denver & Gladys at Century Square. ^_^ Still felt a little bit guilty that we didn't bring them along the other time. So here's making it up to them.

As usual, we are early birds again.. but we did not go for the buffet this time round. So we
make a lot of our usual orders ahead.

While Denver is waiting for his Kiddy Set, he is already feeling very hungry and wasted no time grabbing his favourites from the conveyor belt. Mommy has to remind him to eat a few sushi only so that he has space for his Mini-Bus set later!

Gladys also spent most of her time eating and Ummm playing with her food (unfortunately). She only enjoys the eggs and not the sushi rice. So she will always 'peeled' off the egg from the Tamago sushi and Daddy & Mommy has to help her finish the rice. (Cannot waste food ah!!) -__-

Hubby ordered the Spicy Kimuchi Ramen. Since he always adores SPICY food, he made special request to have the Ramen EXTRA EXTRA EXTRA Spicy.

Well, it does look spicy but Hubby still find it not Shiok Enough. :p Maybe there can be some new menu on really Spicy dishes for those who crave for Hot Stuff to stimulate their taste bud? ^_^

On the other hand, Denver is starting to get a little bit upset. Why?? "Daddy's and Mommy's food has been served.. Where's mine!??? Sob..." True enough. It has been a pretty Loooong wait for Denver.. Most of our orders already came except his! I made an enquiry with one of the waitress and it was only to be served after waiting for another 5 mins later.

Well, the Yakult came fast but his food came really late. Not too sure if it generally takes so long to prepare the kiddy meals? Unlike adults, kids usually lack the patience to wait especially if they are hungry. When the Mini Bus was finally served, Denver was excited to see the food beautifully displayed in the box. Unfortunately, he did not enjoy his meal as much as he would have been and wasn't able to finish his Kiddy set since he was already stuffed with more sushi while waiting. So Daddy & Mommy helped to finish his leftovers *again.

I was thinking if Sakae can serve the Kiddy meals first before the adult's? It will avoid the disappointment and also the kids will have more time to eat.Nevertheless, we finished over 90% of the food with minimal leftovers! Total bill came up to more than $80!! WOW! We sure are Big Eaters! :p

~ Christmas 2009 ~

It's Christmas! The first thing Denver wanted to do when he wakes up is open the presents. I ask him to wait for his sister so that they can do this together.

They got quite a fair bit of stuff already and this is only Part 1! The children started off having fun with the small remote car. Zoom... Bang... Vrooom...

We popped by IKEA to grab some items, had lunch at Kovan area and went to my brother's house. The kiddos got presents from their 舅舅 and 舅母. Another round of tearing the wrappers. Stationary and Colouring sets for them! Very sweet and thoughtful. ^_^

3rd round - The presents came from Eileen's & JunLong's parents. Denver always judge the value of the presents by it's size. Believing the Bigger the Better! So he was like "Huh? My one so small?" "Why Meimei got toys?" -_- I have to teach some sense into him to appreciate the things he got.

Final round - The last Christmas presents for this year. Again, the children are looking at the size and checking out what presents each is getting. Gladys got a jewerly set and Denver loves his remote Helicopter toy from their 小叔 and 婶婶.

Apart from all the fun and presents.... Gladys has been making me mad today. She has not been listening.. not napping well and has been extremely stubborn insisting on the things she wanted. My blood pressure increased as I scolded her leaving her crying. -___- Of course I am NOT going to give in and let her has her way. Hopefully she'll be more discipline when she starts school.

Other than that, it seems to be a rather eventful day. Children are so blessed nowadays. I don't have that luxury during my childhood days as money is hard-earned. Toys are also very minimal. I hope that as the children grow, they will learn and understand that besides getting so many gifts during every Christmas, they should not take things for granted and will learn how to share and give too.

~ Hollywood Dinos & Ah Yat Seafood ~

It has been raining lately and we are hoping the weather be kind today as all of us are going to see the Hollywood Dinos @ Jurong Bird Park before the school re-opens.

It's a long drive down from SengKang to Jurong but we reached at 10:10am. Unfortunately, we were told to wait for another 10-20mins as there are some technical issues with the Dinos.. (The dinos can't move -_-). By the time everything is fixed its around 10:30am...we did not continue our queue for the guided tour and went for Free & Easy.

There are about 4 dinos displayed outside and the rest are mostly in the cave.









Gladys had to be carried throughout the journey even though she said it was fake before we enter. Hubby and I tried to convince her but seeing the Big Dinos moving with the sound effects doesn't makes it any better. :p Denver on the other hand enjoyed the most out of it.









The cave is dimly lighted and the bridge we were crossing tilt from left to right. Denver finds it so exciting walking on a moving bridge. Poor Gladys was scared even with the 'protection' from Daddy and Mommy. She had her ears shut and snuggled tightly onto us to be safe. At least she managed to overcome her fear to quickly touch a dino. :p

It wasn't a very big cave and it probably only took us half hour to walk through 1 round. As requested by Denver, we went for a 2nd round. Imagine how SHOCK Gladys was to go through this all over again. :p Only this time, it's Mommy's turn to carry. Hahaha.. But she did Great!

Description of the Dinos exhibited

Before we exit, they get to play with the sand for awhile.. - digging out bones. :) The entire dino exhibits area is kinda small, since it only took us half hour to complete. I was like.. "Huh? Thats it??" It would have been a better option by taking the guided tour instead (~45mins). Still, I was hoping there will be more Dinos and excitement to see. Ah well, at least the children had some fun. :)

11:30pm. Just nice for LUNCH! Hubby saw there is a 50% off on the DimSum and Seafood menu

at Ah Yat Seafood Resturant... So here we are!

We ordered mostly Dimsum (e.g. siewmai, bao, jiaozi, changfen, carrotcake etc) and 1 small Chilli Crab since its one of the favourite dish which the whole family enjoys! (Including Denver & Gladys). Especially Denver.. He loves the Chilli Crab my mil made and always enjoy having crabs. Our Lunch Bill ~ $60SGD.

Next, it's shopping at Jurong Point before heading back home for a short nap. ^_^
